I have some questions on the 2020 Budget. The 3 admin office staff received an increase of $17,681.63 in the 2020 budget, over the 2019 budget. Who got what portion of that increase? Waterworks renumeration, went from $121,191. in 2019 to $179,415.25 in 2020 an increase of $58,224.25. Was for a new employee for the new treatment plant employee? Fire department went from $73,430. in 2019 to $119,000. in 2020. An increase of $45,570! Why?

- Regarding the $17,681.63 increase for administration:
A 2018 increase in wages for the CAO and new administrative clerk were not reflected in the 2019 budget. These increases have been included in the 2020 budget.
- Regarding the $58,224.25 increase for waterworks:
This includes a 2.5% salary increase for the water superintendent plus a 2.5% COLA increase for both waterworks employees.
There was $7,220.82 spent on overtime and callouts.
In addition, another part-time water technician will be hired in 2020.
3. I don’t see an increase of $45,570.00 for the fire department.
What I see is $12,783.21 – due to new contracts for the fire chief and deputy chief, plus extended hours for the deputy chief for his role as weekday duty officer.
